Oscar Ross was born and raised in New Mexico and lived in Texas before coming to Denver in 2002. His father taught him how to play the guitar and he was brought up in a cowboy family listening to many of the old greats like Merle Haggard, George Jones and Waylon Jennings.
The original idea of this album was designed as a gift to his family of songs written over a course of 15-20 years. This self-titled debut LP was recorded at Omni Sound Studios in Nashville with many legendary musicians and also at his Sailor Records label residence in Denver. These songs are about love, family, whiskey, outlaws and heartache.
